For decades, the major tournaments in Verden have been ranking among the most important equestrian events in Germany and abroad.
In 2010, the International Dressage and Show Jumping Festival in Verden, featuring also the F.E.I. World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses, will again attract more than 40,000 guests from all over the world. Breeders, instructors and riders as well as all those who love equestrian sport will come to the Rider’s Town of Verden to see the future championship stars at young age. Apart from that, it will be a good opportunity to spend a pleasant time in the relaxed atmosphere of the exhibition "Verden Country Days", covering a wide range of products for horses, home and stable.
This event is not only an extensive equestrian sport happening, it also attracts people from different branches like business, media, society and sport long before the event really starts.
Year by year, the fascination for equestrian sport in Germany is growing and in the meantime, the horse industry’s turnover exceeds billions of Euro. The "Horse Country of Lower Saxony" and the Rider’s Town of Verden occupy a leading position.
And the purpose of the show is also unique in Germany:
The whole range of training levels for dressage horses will be shown, from riding horse ability classes, qualifier for the Nuremberg Cup Finals and the Piaff-Challenge-Cup to Grand Prix de Dressage and Grand Prix Spécial. The worldwide interest is focused on the F.E.I. World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses, the world championships for young dressage horses.
The program is completed by international show jumping competitions at CSI**-level in the renovated Verden stadium.
Another show jumping highlight will of course be the Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships, staged for the first time in 2007. Witness the young show jumping prospects on their way into advanced level sport. You will see Hanover’s best breeding products in the finals for the Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships.
