Top Marks for Verden as Location of WCh
(Verden) The World Championships for Young Dressage Horses have been held at Verden/Aller since 2001 after hosting the pilot scheme WCh in 1997. The concept of this event has since constantly been further developed. For three years top show-jumping sport has been included. On 37 hectares top sport is offered in three arenas including the stadium. The concept also includes the exhibition with the Verden Country Days. The exhibition has been particularly popular this year because of its size, its variety and quality.
At the final press conference of the five-day festival show-director Rainer Kiel looked back on a successful event with over 42,000 spectators and a tremendous mood among the international audience. The officials from the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) and the German Equestrian Federation (FN) added a whole lot of compliments. Klaus Miesner (FN) and Jan Pedersen (WBFSH) described the conditions for the horses, the riders and the audience as optimal. Bernard Maurel (France), representing the judges particularly praised the cooperation between judges, stewards and organisers.
